Low budget is the newest fad for small business marketing. Who doesn’t want to save money? I’m going to explain a few ways to save money but also promote your company in the best way! Just remember the more money you put out the more effective it will be.

Always remember that you are always representing your company. People are always asked, where do you work or what do you do? The moment you tell them, you are a representation of your company. With this in mind, you are always marketing for your company. A casual conversation with someone can turn into a new client. Its simply, talking! How much more low budget can you get?

Social media is another effective outlet for marketing. Technology has become a huge part of today’s society and it is important to adjust to that. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram have all become major advertising channels. You can choose to pay for ads to be put on Facebook or you can create a business Facebook page for free. Paying for a Facebook ad does not have distinct cost. You decide how much you want to spend. You set the budget and timeline for the ad. The price you pay is up to you. Advertising on your Facebook and Instagram pages is completely free. If you do choose to take this route, be consistent. If you want people to be informed about your company. Try and post once or twice a day.. Twitter is also a great way to be interactive with your audience. Talk to people through twitter in the same field or influencer on that field. For example, as a wedding planning company, we can tweet to wedding dress designers. Tweet regularly, it shows that you have an active, healthy profile. Through Twitter, Instagram and Facebook you can keep track of feedback whether that be positive or negative.

Other forms of marketing through technology is blogging. This free technique allows for lots of room for creativity and insight. You don’t have to be a strong writer but you do need to know what the people one. Be creative with your posts and have fun with it. Popular blogs include top 10 lists.

Not everyone is a fan of technology, it is important to open your doors to all people. Some find it more professional when advertisements are done through print such as magazines, newspapers etc. A small advertisement in your local newspaper can bring in attention for a low cost. Interacting to the entire community can create an audience that you may not have been reaching through social media.

You can also exhibit an event. Exhibiting an event can be low cost. Along with the low cost, it helps to create a strong brand name. Events can be promoted through flyers placed throughout the community in coffee shops, libraries and grocery stores. We will go more into detail about how to exhibit an event in another post.

Marketing at a low budget isn’t the end of the world. There are plenty of ways for a company to market successfully with limited money but if you do have some money laying around it doesn’t hurt to use it for the best advertising.
